Ingredients

  • 1 pound cube steak
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Directions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  2. In a separate shallow dish, whisk together the buttermilk.
  3. Dip the cube steak in the buttermilk, then coat it in the flour mixture. Make sure it is evenly coated with the flour mixture.
  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the oil. Once the oil is hot, add the cube steak to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes, then flip the steak over and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the steak is cooked through and golden brown.
