Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2-3 large bananas)
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan, or use baking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Stir in the mashed bananas and buttermilk. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool before slicing and serving.
