- 1 cup quick-cooking grits
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Directions
- In a medium saucepan, combine grits, milk, chicken broth, 2 tablespoons butter, and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until grits are tender, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in remaining 1 tablespoon butter and cheddar cheese. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with parsley.
