Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef, cubed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chiles
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced jalapenos
  • 1 cup beef broth

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and onion, and cook until the beef is browned, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the garlic, cumin, oregano, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the chiles and jalapenos. Pour in the beef broth, and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve over rice or tortillas.
