Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Add the yogurt and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold in the melted chocolate chips, stirring until combined.
- Spread the chocolate mousse over the cooled cake. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
