Ingredients

  • 1 pound penne pasta
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat.
  2. Add the penne pasta and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper and cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
  4. Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  5. Remove from the heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and parsley.
  6. Serve immediately.
