Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar, for rolling

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the flour, stirring until well blended.
  4. Stir in the chopped walnuts.
  5. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 12 minutes.
  7. Roll the balls in confectioners' sugar while still warm.
  8. Let cool before serving.
