Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup hot milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  6. Gradually beat in the flour mixture alternately with the hot milk.
  7. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
