Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup (150g) light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and brown sugar together until combined.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract and whisk until combined.
  4. Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop 2-tablespoon size portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9-10 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
