Broccoli and Cauliflower Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange the broccoli and cauliflower florets in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Gradually whisk in the milk, and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.
  4. Remove from the heat and stir in the cheese. Pour the cheese sauce over the broccoli and cauliflower.
  5. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbling.
