Ingredients

  • 1 loaf stale white bread, cubed
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Vanilla sauce, for serving

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8 inch square baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the bread cubes, milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, eggs, vanilla, raisins, and melted butter. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until set. Serve with vanilla sauce.
