Ingredients
1 lb of steak (sirloin or other cut of your choice)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
2 tablespoons of butter
1/2 cup of white wine
1/2 cup of heavy cream
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 cup of button mushrooms, sliced
1/4 teaspoon of thyme
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the steak with salt and pepper and add to the skillet.
Cook the steak for about 5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches the desired level of doneness.
Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Lower the heat to medium and add the butter to the skillet.
Add the onion and garlic, and cook until the onion is softened, about 3 minutes.
Add the mushrooms and cook until they are softened and golden, about 5 minutes.
Add the wine, cream, and thyme, and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes.
Return the steak to the skillet, and cook until heated through, about 3 minutes.
Serve the steak and sauce over mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite side dish.
