Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup diced dried prunes
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine beef, onion, garlic, and all spices and seasonings. Mix well.
  3. Stir in apricots, prunes, and almonds. Place mixture in prepared baking dish.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together. Add vinegar and stir to combine. Pour over meat mixture.
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk and eggs. Pour over meat mixture.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until center is cooked through.
