Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 cups fresh blueberries
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 recipe pastry for a 9-inch double-crust pie
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together melted butter, sugar, and 1/4 cup flour. Reserve.
- In a large bowl, combine blueberries, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, and light brown sugar. Toss to coat.
- Roll out one piece of pastry into a 10-inch round. Place into a 9-inch pie pan. Pour berry mixture into pastry shell.
- In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup cold butter, 1/4 cup flour, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over berry mixture.
- Roll out remaining pastry into a 10-inch round. Place over berry mixture. Pinch edges of pastry together. Cut several slits in top of pastry to allow steam to escape.
- Brush top of pastry with reserved butter mixture. Sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
