Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chunks

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
  3. Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  4. Stir in the blueberries and orange juice until the mixture comes together in a soft dough.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times. Pat the dough into a circle about 7 inches in diameter.
  6. Cut the dough into 8 wedges and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the white chocolate chunks over the top.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
