- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/4 cup white chocolate chunks
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
- Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Stir in the blueberries and orange juice until the mixture comes together in a soft dough.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times. Pat the dough into a circle about 7 inches in diameter.
- Cut the dough into 8 wedges and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the white chocolate chunks over the top.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
