Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1 red pepper, roasted, seeded and diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add warm water and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Knead dough until it is soft and pliable.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a large circle about 1/4-inch thick.
  5. Transfer dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine roasted pepper, garlic, olive oil, paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt and lemon juice. Mix until combined.
  8. Remove bread from oven and let cool slightly. Serve with roasted pepper sauce.
