Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beer
- 1/3 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Directions
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
- Add beer, broth, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, salt and pepper and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in cheese and cook, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted.
- Serve warm with chips, breadsticks or roasted vegetables.
