Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 can (7 ounces) chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the onion is softened.
  3. Add the tomatoes, chipotle peppers, cumin, oregano, and salt and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Serve the beef tinga with warm corn or flour tortillas.
