Ingredients

  • 2 beef tenderloin filets, about 1½ inches thick
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Pat the tenderloin filets dry with a paper towel and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. When the oil is hot, add the filets and sear for 3 minutes on each side.
