Ingredients

  • 1 baguette
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup diced jalapenos
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Slice the baguette into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, oregano, and salt. Mix until combined.
  4. Brush the baguette rounds with the olive oil mixture. Arrange on a baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. In a small skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the red onion and jalapenos and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in the chopped cilantro and cook for 1-2 minutes more.
  7. To assemble the crostini, top each baguette round with the jalapeno and onion mixture. Serve immediately.
