Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fish sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup pickled vegetables (such as carrots, cucumbers, and daikon)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic powder, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the fish sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar. Mix until combined.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  4. Add the fish sauce mixture and the pickled vegetables. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Spread the mayonnaise on one side of each hamburger bun. Place the burgers on the buns, top with the cilantro and mint, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot.
