Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and flour. Mix until a crumbly dough forms. Press the dough into a 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  3. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, apples, apple cider, cornstarch, and salt. Mix until combined. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the edges are golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool before serving.
