Ingredients

  • 2 Pie Crusts (homemade or store bought)
  • 6 Large Apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 Cup White Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, melted
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Roll out one of the pie crusts and place it in a 9 inch pie plate.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the sliced apples, white sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Pour mixture into the crust lined pie plate.
  4. Roll out the second crust, place it over the filling, and crimp the edges to seal.
  5. Brush the top crust with melted butter and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool before serving.
