Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating until combined. Add the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beating on low speed until combined. The dough will be stiff.
- Shape the dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in granulated sugar and place on the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
