Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- Filling: 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
- Frosting: 6 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
- In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, salt, and flour. Mix until dough comes together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Roll the dough out into a large rectangle and spread softened butter on top.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the dough.
- Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla for the frosting.
