Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the oil, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix together until well blended.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool before serving.
