Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange zest
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch tube pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the orange zest and orange juice. Slowly add the flour mixture, stirring just until combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out on a wire rack to cool completely.
