Yakitori-Don: A Delicious Japanese Rice Bowl

Ingredients

• 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
• ¼ cup soy sauce
• 2 tablespoons mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
• 2 tablespoons sake
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
• 2 green onions, chopped
• 4 cups steamed rice
• Sesame seeds, for garnish

Directions

1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and thread them onto skewers.
2. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sake, honey, and vegetable oil. Mix well to make the marinade.
3. Place the chicken skewers in a shallow dish and pour half of the marinade over them. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Grill the chicken skewers for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
