Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups frozen blackberries, thawed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for topping

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch (20 cm) square baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt and mix until combined.
  3. Stir in the milk until the mixture is smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spread the thawed blackberries over the top of the batter. Sprinkle the top with the remaining 1/2 cup sugar.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbly.
