Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup pitted green olives, sliced
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, plus more for garnish

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring, until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground turkey, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the cumin, oregano, cinnamon, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add the diced tomatoes, olives, raisins, capers, and cilantro and simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Garnish with additional cilantro, if desired, and serve.
