Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a cookie sheet.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Stir in the pecans. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet.
  3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
