Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup tarako (salted cod roe)
  • 1/4 cup katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sake
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 1/2 pound spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the tarako and katsuobushi and cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Add the soy sauce, sake and mirin and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions.
  5. Drain the spaghetti and add it to the skillet with the tarako mixture. Toss to combine.
  6. Serve the spaghetti topped with parmesan cheese and parsley.
