Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, mix together the mashed sweet potatoes, butter, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned.
Serve warm.
