Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
- Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned.
- While the meatballs are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, ketchup, hot sauce, water, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
- Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the oven and brush them with the prepared glaze. Return the meatballs to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize.
- Garnish the meatballs with sliced green onions, if desired, and serve hot.
