1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (such as parsley, basil, and chives)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually stir in milk and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened. Stir in salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Remove from heat.
Arrange squash in the prepared baking dish. Pour cheese sauce over the squash. Sprinkle with herbs, bread crumbs, and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until squash is tender and golden brown.
Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
