Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar for sprinkling
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
