1 lb ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (4 oz) can diced green chiles
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon cumin
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat.
Add the bell pepper, beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chiles, chili powder, garlic powder, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve with your favorite toppings, such as shredded cheese, sour cream, and diced onions.
