Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 pound bacon, diced
- 1 pound chorizo sausage, casing removed
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 habanero peppers, seeded and finely chopped
- 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon from the pot and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pot.
- In the same pot, add the ground beef, ground pork, ground chicken, and chorizo sausage. Cook over medium heat until browned and cooked through, breaking up the meat into small crumbles.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and habanero peppers to the pot. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
- Stir in the cooked bacon, kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Bring the chili to a simmer and let it cook for at least 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Taste the chili and adjust the seasoning if needed. If you prefer a spicier chili, you can add more chili powder or diced habanero peppers.
- Serve the Five-Meat Habanero Chili hot with your favorite toppings, such as shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions, or jalapenos.
- Enjoy!
