  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (14 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, sliced jalapenos, chopped cilantro

Directions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef to the pot and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Remove any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and green bell pepper to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

  8. Serve hot with your choice of optional toppings, such as shredded cheese, sour cream, sliced jalapenos, and chopped cilantro.
