Serve it with roasted potatoes or a side of creamy mashed potatoes for a complete meal that will satisfy your taste buds.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper and sear them in the hot skillet until browned on both sides. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.
  5. Add the sauerkraut, sliced apples, ground coriander, ground cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, and cinnamon to the skillet. Stir well to combine the ingredients.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir again to ensure everything is mixed together.
  7. Return the seared pork chops to the skillet, nestling them in the sauerkraut mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid or foil.
  8. Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for about 90 minutes, or until the pork is tender and cooked through.
  9. Once cooked, remove the skillet from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  10. Serve the spiced apple kraut pork hot, spooning the sauerkraut mixture over the pork chops. Enjoy!
