Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 ounces) of chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, onion, garlic, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper. Pulse until well combined and the ingredients form a paste.
  2. Add the flour and pulse again until just combined. Do not over process.
  3. Form the mixture into small patties, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 4 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite side dishes.
