Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium speed, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Beat in the vanilla extract.
- Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture, beating until fully incorporated.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
