Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add smoked sausage and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add apples, thyme, and salt and pepper to taste, and cook until apples are softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Spoon sausage and apple mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Sprinkle the bread crumb mixture over the sausage and apples.
  8. Bake in preheated oven until golden brown and bubbly, about 25 minutes.
