Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup onion, minced

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and allspice until well blended.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls (about 1-inch in diameter).
  3. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and transfer to a slow cooker.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, sour cream, and flour. Pour the mixture over the meatballs.
  6. Add the minced onion to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  7. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours.
  8. Serve the meatballs over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
