Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker.
In a medium bowl, mix together the onion, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and salt. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
Pour in the water, raisins, almonds, cilantro, and lemon juice. Stir to combine.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
Serve over rice or couscous, and garnish with additional cilantro and almonds, if desired.
