Ingredients

  • 1 pound cooked shrimp, shelled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, mayonnaise, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir in the onion and celery.
  4. Add the cheese and stir to combine.
  5. Pour the wine into a 9-inch baking dish.
  6. Spread the shrimp mixture over the wine.
  7. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
  8. Stir in the flour to make a smooth paste.
  9. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the sauce is thick and smooth.
  10. Pour the sauce over the shrimp mixture.
  11. Sprinkle the pecans over the top.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned.
