Ingredients
- 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup blackstrap molasses
- 1/2 cup boiling water
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add melted butter and mix until crumbly.
- Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the pie crust.
- In a separate bowl, mix molasses with boiling water. Pour into pie crust.
- Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top. Bake for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool before serving.
