Ingredients

  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup blackstrap molasses
  • 1/2 cup boiling water

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add melted butter and mix until crumbly.
  3. Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the pie crust.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix molasses with boiling water. Pour into pie crust.
  5. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top. Bake for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool before serving.
