Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup prepared mustard
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup dried bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. In a small bowl, combine ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until combined.
  4. Add eggs and bread crumbs to the ground beef mixture. Mix until all ingredients are incorporated.
  5. Press the mixture into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.
  7. Spread the ketchup mixture over the top of the meatloaf. Bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  8. Remove from oven and let cool before serving.
