Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon shrimp paste (belacan)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 shallots, minced
- 3 red chili peppers, cut into thin slices
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
Directions
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the shrimp paste and cook until lightly browned, about 2 minutes.
- Add the oil, garlic, and shallots, and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the chili peppers, sugar, and salt, and cook for another minute.
- Remove from heat and stir in the lime juice.
- Let cool before serving.
