Ingredients
- 1 recipe of double-crust pie dough (or two store-bought pie crusts)
- 3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/4-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 cup salted caramel sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large bowl, combine cubed apples, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and ginger. Mix until the apples are evenly coated.
- Roll out the pie dough and cut out circles about 4-5 inches in diameter. Place a heaping tablespoon of the apple filling in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling and crimp the edges with a fork to seal. Place the pies on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the pies with the melted butter and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pies are golden brown.
- Cool the pies for 10 minutes before drizzling with salted caramel sauce.
