Ingredients

  • 1 recipe of double-crust pie dough (or two store-bought pie crusts)
  • 3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/4-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cubed apples, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and ginger. Mix until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Roll out the pie dough and cut out circles about 4-5 inches in diameter. Place a heaping tablespoon of the apple filling in the center of each circle.
  4. Fold the dough over the filling and crimp the edges with a fork to seal. Place the pies on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush the tops of the pies with the melted butter and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pies are golden brown.
  6. Cool the pies for 10 minutes before drizzling with salted caramel sauce.
